Welcome to RSCDS, Sacramento
We are members of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, an international organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish Country Dancing.
Scottish Country Dancing is social dancing, done at parties and balls around the world. It is non-competitive and done in sets of 4 to 10 dancers. With roots in Renaissance country dances and highland reels, Scottish Country Dancing is one of the ancestors of American Square Dancing. Some of our earliest dances date back to the 1600s, but it is a living dance form with new exciting dances being written all the time.
With lively music and interesting figures Scottish Country Dancing is a great way to spend an evening, meet interesting people and form lasting friendships. Unlike Ballroom dancing, your don’t have to have a partner to come dance with us.
